show me one student …
show me one student who devoted their time to studies that hasn’t gotten an education

an employer pays …
an employer pays you to perform a service for them, based on how valuable your service is. insurance is a benefit, not required of an employer, nor should it be required. just like minimum wage shouldn’t exist. who is the government to tell you how much you have to pay someone for their time?

So well said! Not …
So well said! Not to mention all those “PRODUCTIVE” Americans who dont have insurance offered to them by the company they are “PRODUCTIVE” for. Most “PRODUCTIVE” workers here dont have coverage they can afford unless they are union. How fair is that?

It’s about time we …
It’s about time we had free health care and education, if not just worldwide. Who should have to pay for this when it was meant to be free in the first place?
Proves how free and democratic anyone in America (not just America)is. We’re controlled by capitalists, which are a lot like fascists/elitists. Thanks to lacking freedoms of speech/the press, no one can see that. How stupid can people be?!!? Is there no end to the well of stupid they drink from?!!?
FUCK!!!

You really need to …
You really need to read some Ayn Rand!

what? Your kidding …
what? Your kidding me right? I have to pay $1,105 for this semester alone. Oo~ And that’s not counting the books or other needed expenses. *dies* People in America really get drained the life out of them.

ummmmmm because …
ummmmmm because many companies would choose to not pay you squat? company insurance should be required. why wouldn’t a company want their employees healthy and able to come to work? ohhh that’s right…they’d rather you toil for them for 30 some years get sick and die. Then they don’t have to pay your retirement.

you really need to …
you really need to research capitalism and fascism and you will see what an hoe you sound like saying they are alike

the only reason …
the only reason govt raises minimum wage is bc so many union jobs have clauses that when min wage goes up so does their pay and we all know the unions own the politicians.

swiftydelux:

do you want the …
do you want the government telling you how much you have to pay someone to mow your lawn or fix your car? because in essence that is what minimum wage is. or how about if the government required you to pay an extra fee when any self-employed person that does work for you so they can go buy insurance?

May 30th, 2009 | 3:37 am
swiftydelux:

and to the …
and to the statement that some employers would choose not to pay ? you do realize that roughly 2.7% make minimum wage, and those types of jobs are the ones that high school students have. you arent supposed to support a family on min wage. if you are trying you are a loser

May 30th, 2009 | 3:37 am
swiftydelux:

once again, do you …
once again, do you want the gov telling u how much u have to pay someone to mow your lawn, or how much food should cost at a restaurant, and if your landscaper is self employed that YOU have to help pay for their health insurance? i’m sure u would have issues with that. just as long as the gov is controlling someone else’s money your cool

swiftydelux:

there are soooo may …
there are soooo may grants and aides for students that its ridiculous. people don’t not go to school bc they can’t afford to, that’s a cop-out. they go bc they don’t have the intestinal fortitude to study and get good grades and get into school in the first place. trust me, if you have the grades a school will take your money, grant, scholarship or whatever

swiftydelux:

actually i’m just a …
actually i’m just a person who believes the government is too involved in our lives already. and waiters and waitresses make like 2.33 an hour. they have to earn the rest. minimum wage jobs are meant for kids. not for people who have 2 kids. its not up to the government to tell an employer how much they should pay a person to do a job for them

May 30th, 2009 | 3:37 am
GeekyDiorGirl:

you say the govt …
you say the govt shouldn’t have a minimum wage. then you say you aren’t suppose to support a family on min. wage. Okay say the govt does away with min. wage and then an employer can pay you 2.00 an hour to work for them. So in fact you sound like an idiot on both points.

May 30th, 2009 | 3:37 am
GeekyDiorGirl:

ohhh and you are …
ohhh and you are probably the same person that hollers there should be no welfare because those people don’t want to work and they could at least work at McDonald’s to get off welfare. where I live is very small. if it were not for minimum wage jobs then a lot of people would not eat! or would you rather that all people without a degree go on welfare instead of taking a minimum wage job? maybe if education was free no one would have to work for 5.15 an hour!

May 30th, 2009 | 3:37 am
swiftydelux:

that means roughly …
that means roughly 97.3% of employers choose to pay more than what the imperial gov requires them to pay. freedom = less government involvment in individuals’ lives

I agree, the term …
I agree, the term entry level job means just that, entry level. These jobs exist for the purpose of teaching young people how to build up character, not for a single mother to support her children.

I completely …
I completely disagree. A student’s energy should be devoted to his/her studies, not finding ways to pay for their education. In, Europe higher education is universal and they are very sucessful in attracting foreign talent, as well as leading in areas of scientific research.
