Bring it! I just got my Ford Probe cash for clunkers trade in. What’s the problem with free stuff?
i agree with the first poster.
the people who want the free healthcare, fund it themselves.
and the people who voted for obama that happen to work in the energy industry should be the ones who lose their jobs when cap-and-trade (b.s. global warming bill) takes effect.

My 1 month old has begun to display signs of colic – excessive crying, can’t be soothed, gas (though she farts and burps, she still brings her legs up and fusses lots). Do formulas like Similac Alimentum or Enfamil Nutramigen really work or help colic? Right now I supplement with Enfamil Lipil but am thinking about changing over. Also, is there a way to snag free samples from these companies for a specific type – usually they only send their regular brands.
My oldest had a terrible case of colic. We tried every type of formula we could find but nothing helped.
Then, our pediatrician recommended Nutramigan and it was a miracle. The constant crying stopped and he began sleeping through the night.
Too bad it took eight months to start using it.
Expensive, but well worth it.

Bravo and hurray for Network Marketing. For those reading the question and my answer, I know, I know — you think it’s a pyramid scheme. Yeah, and the world was flat to so many before Columbus. Even I shouted "pyramid scheme" before I admitted I didn’t really know ANYTHING about network marketing. Fact: Pyramid schemes are against the law and do NOT involve products or services… only a criminal exchange (read LOSS) of money. (My company… Isagenix, is going on 7 years in business and has cumed $1B and has created 25 millionaires — one is mentoring ME.) Fact: Network Marketing is the only truly democratic business model… as opposed to every corporation in America where the only ones who get rich are the top execs and the fattest shareholders. Everyone else is a working drone like I was, trading time for money. I was skeptical myself when my wife started it a couple years ago. She was out-earning me within a year, is making 6+ figures and NOW she’s retired me. God’s honest truth! Network marketing is fantastic. That’s why it’s endorsed by D. Trump and R. Kiyosaki. LOOK, you don’t have to join ours — PLEASE just get the real answers before you decide. And be sure to carefully read the COMPENSATION PLAN. With all due respect, Freelife’s CP only allows 10 levels deep. Isagenix goes INFINITELY DEEP. This allows total freedom to earn as fast or slow as desired with NO upper limit. Check out this website then contact me if you want more information.

I love to collect free beauty and health samples online. I always have some in my mailbox. Does anyone do this?
YEs! I also hit up the dept store cosmetic counters for their samples of facial cleanser, moisturizer, shampoo…before I travel. It’s stuff I don’t normally splurge on so when I’m away from home I can take some little "luxuries" with me!

Health food supplements are one of the hottest selling products in the market these days. Their total consumption values billions of dollars in the U.S. alone. Recent surveys show that more than half of the adults in the U.S. consume health food supplements in different forms, such as tablets, capsules, powders, soft gels, gel caps and liquids.
The increased consumption of health food supplements can be attributed to public awareness of health issues and improved standard of living in our society. Many studies have shown that there is a close correlation between health and nutrition. Insufficient supply of nutrients can weaken our body defense mechanism, causing medical problems from common ailments to more severe illnesses in the long term.
There are different types of health food supplements, including macronutrients (amino acids, proteins, essential fatty acids), micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), enzymes (digestive enzymes and antioxidant enzymes), probiotics (beneficial bacteria in the gut), and herbal supplements. These supplements have unique functions in our body. They are either essential for life and good health, modulate our immune system or help with liver detoxification, digestion, mental clarity, etc.
Many people argue that there is no need to consume health food supplements as long as you have a healthy lifestyle and eat a balanced diet. While this may be true, the fact is maintaining a healthy lifestyle and proper diet is difficult to achieve by many people.
Over the past few decades, the green revolution has changed the farming practices over the world. We use more chemical fertilizers, more pesticides to grow the food produce in order to increase harvest and shorten the growth period. As a result, soil nutrients and the population of beneficial soil bacteria are depleted rapidly, and the produce we grow today contain less micronutrient than before.
A stressful lifestyle, improper eating habits, imbalanced diet and increased exposure to chemicals such as environmental pollutants (air, water) and pesticides, drugs, hormones, heavy metals in foods also weaken our body gradually.
Although health food supplements can be beneficial to our health, consumers should still choose the products carefully. Currently, there is little regulation on the quality of health food supplements. Composition of some health food products may not match the label claims and the quality of raw materials and finished products is not guaranteed. Therefore, consumers should only buy from reputable health food manufacturers, read the labels carefully and read more related literatures.
Here are some general rules for buying health food supplements:
1) Supplements made from whole foods, natural sources are better than the synthetic ones. They are more bioactive, can be absorbed readily, and less likely to be contaminated by chemicals such as coal tars used in chemical synthesis.
2) Protein-bonded vitamins and minerals (vitamins and minerals in organic form, binding to amino acids) are more bioactive than the inorganic forms.
3) Buy supplements using safe extraction methods, such as cold pressed extraction or supercritical extraction. This can avoid the harmful residue from chemical extraction.
4) Herbal concentrate and extract are usually more effective than the raw herbs.
5) Organically grown or wild crafted herbs are less likely to be contaminated by heavy metals, pesticides and other chemicals.
6) Read the labels, do not consume more than the recommended dose.
7) Be careful when consuming certain herbal supplements, such as Ma Huang / ephedra, Kava Kava, comfrey, etc. Some studies have shown that these herbs may cause severe side effects to some people. Stop use if unusual signs appear after consumption.
Some health food supplements may interact with drugs, either by decreasing or increasing their effects. Consult your doctor if you are currently taking medications.
9) Pregnant and nursing women, people with specific medical conditions such consult the doctors when consuming health food supplements.
10) If in doubt, contact the supplement manufacturers or distributors for more information of their products.
11) Health food supplements are available in many places, such as grocery stores, health food stores, drug stores, pharmacies, supermarkets, department stores, online stores, etc. Be a smart consumer, compare the price and service before purchase.

1. Eliminate junk food – gawd! This was very hard at first!
Doing your shopping on your own is the easiest way to shop, as children and sometimes spouses are usually the ones requesting junk food. Gotta blame someone, right?
Shopping alone takes some discipline and, once you get the hang of it, will ensure that you only buy foods your body really needs for optimal health.
2. Buy and drink water or milk instead of soft drinks.
You can still enjoy your favorite drinks at a sporting event or night out, although you should cut the number you imbibe. When shopping, stick with the smallest size of that taboo drink, to save money and calories. And, don’t buy the diet cola hype.
Read the label for ingredients and look for syrup content. That’s where the fat devils are hiding.
Children and even adults need milk or milk products on a daily basis. Milk will also help you feel stronger, provide calcium for
healthy bones and healthy teeth, and you’ll sleep better. Calcium has relaxing qualities. Remember the advice – drink a warm glass of milk before bed?
3. Buy fruits in quantity.
When they are in season, buy fruits in quantity and freeze any extras. You can buy several pounds this way, and freeze extras to have them when the fruit goes out of season. Wash the fruit well, remove any spoiled pieces, dry thoroughly, then freeze in plastic zipper bags.
You can even buy apples in season and not freeze them. Just place in a plastic bag in the bottom drawer of the fridge. They will stay fresh for weeks on end. My wife does this and we have fresh apple pies all Winter.
4. Meats and beans are a super health source.
Meats and beans are the best sources for protein. Lean meat is more expensive than meats with a lot of fat but here’s a tip: Buy the cheap stuff, fry the meat in a pan with some water in it so the fat floats. I like to season the meat while it’s frying. The water floats off the excess seasoning. Then, scoop the meat onto a plate lined several paper towels thick to soak up the grease and you have your own version of low-fat meat.
Canned beans are always a great deal as well, as they give you protein at a great low price. Buy the cheapest store brand too. Likely they were canned by a name brand company anyway.
5. Use beans as a substitute in meals.
You should use beans a substitute for meat frequently. There are several varieties. Prepare them in a crock pot so, when you get home, they are ready to consume.
The USDA recommends eating beans at least 4 times per week. If you experience gas after eating beans you should try washing them, covering them with water, bringing the water to a boil, then draining it off and refilling the pot.
6. Cast your fishing line at the dock or at the market.
If you live in a coastal area or an area where fish abound, make that an integral part of your diet. You can catch them from the
lakes or rivers, saving money in the process but don’t overdo it. Mecury, you know? Once a week is good.
7. Peanut butter isn’t just for kids.
Peanut butter is great for those on a budget. as it’s popular with almost everyone. You can use it for sandwiches instead of eating hot dogs. It does need to be refrigerated. Bigger jars can last you for weeks.
One word of caution. Peanut butter contains some mold. If you are allergic, well, you probably already know it and already know to not overdo it. In Canada, candy bars no longer contain peanuts. Imagine that!
8. Water, water, and more water.
You should fill up with foods that have a high content of water. Watermelon, salads, and even sugar free gelatin are all great examples. Water is nature’s elixir and a source of life to the body.
Eating healthy is a lifestyle you will not regret. You can eat healthy for just a few bucks, which makes it perfect for those of us on a
budget.
Now, you know, you really don’t need a lot of money to have the lifestyle and health you’ve always wanted.

It is probably the best to just make your own “natural” beauty products if you want to ensure they actually contain “all natural ingredients.” There are several good companies providing organic based ingredients to facilitate making your own products. Natural cosmetics are easy to make in the home using nothing more than regular kitchen equipment.
This article takes a brief look at how beauty product manufacturers tell us what is in their products.
The market in beauty products has grown significantly in the last 25 years but in the last 10 years there has been an increasing interest in the ingredients contained within the lotions, creams and potions we apply so liberally to our skin – the largest organ of our human bodies.
Many main stream manufacturers still include a range of not so natural ingredients in their products:
- waste products from the petrochemical industry
- lead and other heavy metals
- products extracted from animal carcasses
Many of these ingredients are given scientific sounding names. While the cynic may say this is a deliberate attempt to confuse the consumer, a more charitable view is that this is done in pursuit of accurate labeling.
As a result of the heightened awareness of health matters and the confusion concerning ingredients and labeling, a new sector of this lucrative market has arisen, which is the need for natural skin care and cosmetics.
But just how natural is natural?
Many consumers require natural ingredients but are not prepared to accept the necessary compromise in product performance. A classic example is with the ingredient Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. This is a synthetic detergent derived from coconut oil and it appears in a wide range of shampoos, bath products, toothpastes and liquid soaps. It is what gives these products the luxurious bubbles and lather to which we have all become accustomed. A number of studies have suggested that this ingredient is harmful and many consumers now seek products containing an alternative.
Manufacturers then developed Sodium Laureth Sulphate, which is considered less irritating than Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. When this was condemned, Ammonium Laureth Sulphate and Ammonium Lauryl Sulphate were substituted. Once again these are synthetic detergents developed from coconut oil and they are still considered to be an irritant. Some studies have also suggested they may be carcinogenic.
Unless consumers have knowledge of bio-chemistry it is almost impossible to discern what ingredients are natural and what are not. The SLS saga is but one example of this confusion.
It is ironic that a number of “natural” manufacturers aggressively promote their products by denigrating the products of competing companies – despite the fact that the ingredients they contain are essentially the same.
Consumers need to make themselves aware of the real meanings behind the mysterious names on their cosmetic bottles and jars and educate themselves about the various aliases they are likely to encounter.
Depending on the reasons for wanting to purchase natural products, some ingredients may be more acceptable than others. Take Lanolin for example. Lanolin is extracted from the fleece of sheep. It has been shown to contain a large number of chemicals used to kill parasites that may live on the sheep. Many eczema sufferers find that treatment with lanolin based products – despite the chemicals – helps to reduce symptoms. The benefits of Lanolin treatment outweigh the disadvantage of potential contaminants. This is a value judgment that individuals will need to make.
In conclusion, one of the best ways to ensure that your products are natural is to make them yourself. There are a growing number of companies providing organic based ingredients to facilitate home manufacture of products. Natural cosmetics are surprisingly easy to make in the home using nothing more than regular kitchen equipment. This may be an alternative worth checking-out.
